A message from the CEO

Hello, my name is Matthew. I am the CEO and co-founder of Skjold Airways.

From the time I was in high school to now, flight simulation has always been a hobby of mine. Before I found VATSIM, I had always wanted to fly in a group setting, making new friends along the way.

The problem: current virtual airlines have strict rules with minimum active hours, no creativity, no rewards system, and they lack realistic live flight operations.

Here at Skjold Airways we aim to shake up the market with new features, such as real-time fuel cost, flight demands (based on real world events), an airspace closure map, an in-depth dispatching system for admins and dispatchers, and so much more.

Of course, good things come to those who wait. As we begin our new journey into the Nordic skies, we know the challenges that we will soon face. I am excited to see what we develop, but these things take time. I expect our soft launch to happen in the next few months, but as the CEO of a new virtual airline that is entering an already saturated market, I want to make it clear that we are striving for a flawless release and not a rushed or faulty system.
